About the Role
The Workers’ Compensation and Safety Manager negotiates BCN Workers' compensation plans and is accountable for the financial performance of WC plans.
This position provides workers’ compensation and safety services to our clients, including managing the workers’ compensation program to ensure effective claims handling.
Responsibilities :
- Research situational calls and respond to employees and clients and document all employee / client requests for service in the CRM system
- Work with clients to return employees to work, answer adjuster questions / concerns, and send job offer letters for employees returning to different positions from loss time injury
- Receive reports of injury from clients and report claims to appropriate carriers
- Meet quarterly with carriers and assist in underwriting of new BCN business
- Prepare and present reports of client activity to client management and BCN leadership
- Develop a schedule of client visits based on the clients’ size and needs
- Conduct safety walkthroughs for new clients and follow-ups for current clients and provide recommendations from the walkthrough
- Assist and guide clients in developing and finalizing safety programs specific to their operations and conduct and coordinate safety training programs
- Coordinate industrial hygiene testing as needed
- Forward drug screen results to clients as applicable
- Assist clients with OSHA / MIOSHA issues
About You :
- Prior experience as a Safety Manager
- Working knowledge of Workers' Compensation programs, insurance, and applicable laws
- Legal and medical terminology related to Workers’ Compensation and regulations
- Must be able to travel to client locations as needed
- Excellent communication skills with Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
