Welding Engineer
Varex Imaging's technology helps our customers see more clearly. Our imaging component solutions are designed for use in high-speed, high-quality, wireless, and digital imaging systems around the world. Tens of thousands of specialized X-ray tubes and flat-panel digital detectors, plus high voltage connectors and imaging software, all developed by Varex, are manufactured each year for sale to imaging equipment manufacturers. Our highly specialized medical imaging solutions provide the technology behind the products relied upon for critical decisions every day.
Works within the Process Engineering team to participate in the development and ongoing support of weld and braze joints on X-ray products.
- Collaborates with operations to understand the weld and joining needs of each area including operators and equipment.
- Works with Research and Development to design weld and braze joints. Continues support by performing prototype welds and brazes.
- Ensures the successful transfer of new welds, joints, equipment, methods, processes, tooling and fixturing from engineering to production.
- Creates, owns, and modifies production work instructions. Trains operators in welding skills, machine operation, and production processes.
- Completes projects to optimize processes, lean out activities, and reduce product costs.
- Performs experiments, analyzes data, writes technical reports, and submits change orders.
Required Certifications and Training
Proficient in GTAWExperience in resistance weldingExperience welding stainless steel and nickel based alloysLaser welding experience is a plusExperience Level with Business Tools
Proficient in utilizing business tools such as : E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointExperience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desiredEducation and Experience
B.S. Degree in Welding & Joining, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringEmployee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
