The Opportunity
Mindful Care is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Coordinator to join our team. Our
ideal candidate will have experience in medical billing and coding and a strong understanding of
insurance processes and regulations. The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring accurate
and timely billing of medical claims, following up with insurance companies on unpaid claims, and
addressing any billing or coding errors. Overall, the Billing Coordinator plays a crucial role in
maintaining the financial health of an organization by efficiently and accurately managing the billing
function.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between offshore Billing Manager and F&A leadership
- Review and verify accuracy of medical claims and billing information
- Submit claims to insurance companies and government agencies
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resubmit as needed
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or errors
- Respond to escalated patient inquiries on HelpScout regarding billing and insurance
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information
- Stay up-to-date on changes in insurance regulations and billing practices
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding or equivalent
- Knowledge of insurance processes and regulations
- Experience in behavioral health billing (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Modio or similar software (preferred)
- Experience with DrChrono or similar EHR / PM software (preferred)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification preferred
Position Type & Schedule
- Position : Regular Full Time (RFT), Exempt
- Annual salary starts at $55,000
- Schedule : Monday - Friday 9 : 00 AM - 5 : 30 PM ET (40 hours)
- Location : Remote
