Job descriptionBachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering E.I.T. certification Course work and / or 0-2 years' experience working on projects that include : Traffic studies and analyses Intersection improvements Highway design Roadway safety design Previous internship with a consulting engineering firm (preferred) Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Working familiarity of AutoCAD Civil 3D and / or Microstation (helpful) Experience with traffic software, such as HCS, or Synchro (a plus) Team player possessing strong communication, planning, and organizational skills Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays (Valid US Driver's License is required) Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Work with Purpose & Impact : Our people design roads, bridges, water and sewer systems. We are actively seeking a Transportation / Traffic Staff Engineer I to join our dedicated team of professionals in Harrisburg, PA with work from home flexibility. As a Transportation / Traffic Staff Engineer I , key responsibilities include :
- Preparing PENNDOT highway occupancy permits; including necessary research, writing, drawing, and design calculations
- Researching code requirements
- Conducting research for transportation reports
- Performing traffic evaluations and field views
- Assists in preparing traffic impact studies and other traffic studies
- Prepares construction plans for highway and / or traffic signals
