Fleet Mechanic Details :
- Direct Hire position
- $33, to $60, / annually
- First Shift
- Basic knowledge of repairing or replacing all structural, body and mechanical parts of a heavy-duty diesel truck.
- Must be proficient with brakes, drivelines, and mechanical engine components on tractors.
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to diagnose and repair all electrical systems
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, ability to identify major components and repairing or replacing mechanical parts of a trailer.
- Help our customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.
- Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
- Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Will be required to travel to customer job sites for repair / maintenance of customer owned Fleet equipment
- Must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
- Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
- Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably.
- Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety customer equipment while using a high degree of independent judgment
- Maintain paperwork / electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner.
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements.
- Required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit.
- The technician is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
- The associate must be able to regularly lift and / or move up to 50lbs / 23kg and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100lbs / 45kg.
Fleet Mechanic Qualifications :
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Heavy duty Certifications are a plus
- 1-5 years of heavy-duty equipment experience (Minimum)
- CDL class A / B Driver's License (Preferred)
- Clean driving record
- Must have own tools
