Interim HR Business Partner

Location : Onsite - Three Forks, MT

Schedule : Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 AM-5 : 00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Interim HR Business Partner to provide strategic and operational HR support across our North American sites. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is self-sufficient, and can confidently lead labor relations, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. The Interim HR Business Partner will play a critical role in supporting site managers and ensuring HR operations run smoothly during a transitional period.

Key Responsibilities

1. Labor Strategy & Relations Support - 40%

  • Serve as the primary Interim HR Business Partner for labor relations, supporting site managers with complex employee issues
  • Act as a strategic filter for HR needs, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Participate in high-level labor discussions when senior HR leadership is unavailable

2. Payroll & Benefits Backup - 30%

  • Provide backup support for payroll and benefits
  • Monitor and respond to benefits and 401(k) inquiries
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in compensation and benefits processes
  • 3. Policy & Process Improvement - 20%

  • Review, document, and enhance HR policies and procedures
  • Lead initiatives focused on process optimization and compliance documentation
  • The Interim HR Business Partner will be expected to identify gaps and recommend improvements
  • 4. HR Data & Reporting - 10%

  • Utilize ADP and Cornerstone systems for performance and succession tracking
  • Maintain recruitment trackers and reconcile headcount against budget
  • Analyze turnover rates and other key HR metrics using Excel
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Strong background in HR compliance and labor relations
  • Proven ability to manage day-to-day HR operations and de-escalate labor issues
  • Professional, grounded presence with excellent judgment and communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications (Pluses)

  • Experience with payroll and benefits administration
  • Familiarity with ADP HRIS and Cornerstone performance systems
  • Advanced Excel skills for HR data tracking and reporting
