Sr Merchandise Specialist
As a Sr Merchandise Specialist, your main objectives are operations, project management and performance management, which you will deliver through strong analytical skills and partnership management between several Staples Business Units (POG, Promo, Inventory and Marketing). - Monitor ongoing performance for initiatives relative to financial goals thru understanding of all key performance metrics - sales, margin, inventory management and turn.
- Develop and project manage short-term plans for mitigating risks and address opportunities.
- Manage cross functional relationships and ensure that other business units our GTM efforts.
- Collaborate with immediate and cross-functional teams, as well as supplier community to identify new strategic initiatives, create project plans and implement timelines to test / roll out.
- Define initiatives and influence cross functional leadership to execute changes in strategy based on recommendations and research / data analytics.
- Reevaluate past initiatives to suggest improvements / best-practices.
- Research and stay up to date with market trends and innovation to make informed decisions about strategy implementation and focus of products on customer satisfaction.
- Weekly category reporting on trends and ad hoc reports and analysis, as needed.
- Review competitors store and online experiences for new product ideas, notable presentations, and pricing discrepancies.
- With direction from the DMM, conduct market research, gather industry data, track trends, themes, competitive shopping to assist with item selection.
- Maintain standards of service to the merchandising issues database, support ad hoc product information requests.
- Proof all online and print vehicles including sku, copy, and images.
- Proactively manage the SKU and Vendor set-up and maintenance process.
Essential skills and experience include :
Bachelor's degreeMinimum 2 years of project management, data analytics or merchandising experienceStrong Microsoft Excel skills; Building comprehensive analysis, creating, and utilizing formulasPreferred skills and experience include :
