Position Summary
The Manager, Programs and Operations, plays a critical role in driving the success of the MCU Foundation’s initiatives and day-to-day operations. This position oversees fundraising efforts, manages programs, coordinates volunteer activities, and delivers comprehensive reporting to leadership and the Board of Directors.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management
- Oversee and ensure the successful delivery of the Foundation’s core programs focused on basic necessities, education, and homeownership.
- Plan and execute program-related events and initiatives that align with program objectives
- Coordinate closely with partners, service providers, and internal stakeholders to strengthen program reach and impact.
- Monitor program performance, ensuring each initiative meets its goals and delivers measurable value.
Volunteer Management
Lead all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, enrollment, and ongoing engagement.Coordinate with community partners and internal teams to plan and execute volunteer events and initiatives.Ensure strong volunteer attendance and active participation through clear communication and thoughtful event planning.Create a rewarding and meaningful volunteer experience that not only engages participants but also maximizes impact for the communities served.Fundraising
Plan and execute fundraising campaigns and strategies to support the Foundation’s programs and initiatives.Work with leaders to identify and coordinate outreach to vendor partnersImpact Measurement and Reporting
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program outcomes and overall impact.Prepare regular reports and updates for internal stakeholders and the Board of Directors.Public Relations
Approve and guide external communications, including newsletters, press releases, and social media content.Ensure all communications reflect the Foundation’s brand and mission.Board Support and Strategic Planning
Prepare and present detailed reports to the Board of Directors.Contribute to strategic planning and provide insights to support organizational decision-making and financial planning and budgeting.Financial Reporting & Controls
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and transparent financial reporting.Review all monetary transactions within the Foundation’s accounts to ensure adherence to applicable policies, procedures and internal controls.Collaborate with finance and Foundation leadership in the development of annual budgets and monitor monthly performance against budget targets.Support the annual independent audit, annual tax return preparation and state filings by coordinating activities between the finance team, external auditors, tax accountants and attorneys.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).2+ years of experience in nonprofit program management, fundraising, or operations.Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and reconciliation.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Proven experience managing volunteers and building community partnerships.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Passion for community impact and advancing social good.MCU Values and Expected Competencies :
