Network Engineer - Full Time - Everett, WA

The Network Engineer ensures the stability, integrity, and security of client voice, data, video, and wireless network services, which is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).

In addition, the Network Engineer is responsible for participating in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of network and communication links.

This position will analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and will provide end user training as required.

What you will be performing

  • Under the supervision of the Director, designs, implements, and manages Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and wireless networks in support of the Compass Health mission.
  • Under the supervision of the Director, designs, implements, and manages network and systems security, including firewall perimeter security, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus solutions, and anti-spam solutions in order to maintain system stability and business continuity.
  • Monitors network and security performance and promptly addresses deficiencies.
  • Creates and maintains documentation on all device configurations and network maps that are kept accessible to designated members of the IT team.
  • Performs network and security audits, system backups, and establishes recovery protocols.
  • Works as an integral IT team member to resolve customer service and performance items related to phones, networking, and video.
  • Actively shares information with IT team members in order to further their professional growth and to ensure redundancy of knowledge via cross training.
  • Participates in the on-call schedule.
  • Participates in supervision and team meetings.
  • Remains compliant with required trainings and certifications.

What you will bring with you

  • Certification as a Cisco CCNA, CCDP / CCVP a plus, or comparable related work experience.
  • Experience with Fortinet products is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 cloud services preferred.
  • 3+ years experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and wireless networks.
  • 3+ years experience designing, implementing, and maintaining VoIP telephone systems.
  • Virtualization technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining video conferencing equipment.
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.
