Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Position Overview

The Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine / Wexner Medical Center is seeking candidates for faculty positions in Nuclear Medicine who are passionate about collaborative, patient-centered clinical excellence, dedicated to advancing research and innovation, committed to education, and inspire inclusivity.

He / she / they will contribute to the Department’s ambition while upholding the organization’s mission and values. The responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to patient care, research, and training graduate and postgraduate students.

The Division of Musculoskeletal Imaging focuses on all aspects of Musculoskeletal imaging, including musculoskeletal related interventional procedures such as joint injection, joint injection, joint aspiration, and percutaneous biopsy.

Department / Division Overview

The Department of Radiology is rapidly growing, with expanded services at off-site imaging centers, and renovations to our existing clinical spaces and new spaces through the medical center strategic expansion project ($3+ Billion) :

  • New construction of a state-of-the-art 830-bed hospital tower, a biomedical research tower, and a Health Sciences building that will house the College of Medicine
  • Construction of 2 newly designed ambulatory care centers in New Albany and Dublin now completed and open in addition to 16 established ambulatory care centers up and running today

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This is a full-time position with a mix of day shift (7am 4pm) and evening shift (12pm 8am) responsibilities. Weekend call coverage is approximately 1 in 7.
  • Contributes to the day-to-day clinical operations of the Interventional Radiology Division of the Department of Radiology : Provides high-quality patient care as related to the Interventional Radiology Service.

Contributes to clinical and imaging operations as related to the Interventional Radiology Service.

Education, Training, and Faculty Development : Conducts and provides clinical instruction, lectures, seminars, and related educational offerings, both within OSUWMC and at the regional and national level.

Collaborates with faculty and leadership in the Division to develop and refine medical student, resident, and fellow training opportunities.

Serves as a mentor and sponsor of residents, fellows, and faculty in the Department.

Research and Scholarship : Supports clinical and translational research activities and innovationMay serve as PI or Co-I in grants and / or clinical trialsServes on Department, OSUCOM, or OSUWMC committees to represent the research and innovation interests of the Department, as appropriate

Job Requirements

  • M.D., or D.O., in imaging and / or imaging-related fields
  • Board certification in Radiology (ABR, AOBR)
  • Subspecialty fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging, or equivalent experience
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Must support and embrace the diverse and inclusive culture of College of Medicine, the Medical Center, and the University

Faculty Defined

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical.

These faculty will have earned a doctor of medicine (MD), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field.

Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms.

Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and / or research.

Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure.

These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study.

Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD or MD / PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.

Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor.

These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years.

Their principal career focus is research.
