You'll work on projects for major names in mission-critical, higher education, sports, healthcare, grocery, restaurant, and retail within the sectors we serve in business, community, health, retail, and venue.

Role
Lead HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer in the Mission Critical Business Sector. You will work on design projects and collaborate with teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Prepares or directs the preparation of design documents, system layouts, drawings, schematics and specifications.
- Leads project and design efforts from concept design through completion.
- Reviews shop drawings for conformity to plans and specifications.
- Researches and makes recommendations on system feasibility and equipment, evaluating products for application.
- Produces solutions to complex engineering problems and design challenges, through direct involvement or advisory capacity.
- Ensures production of drawings, specifications, reports and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
- Mentors less experienced designers and engineers, providing technical guidance.
- May direct activities of technical and administrative staff.
- Develops personal knowledge and the knowledge of others.
- Assists Technical Managers and Directors with goals, policies, objectives and standards at the practice / sector level.
- Develops tools, resources and company practices; reinforces design and engineering standards.
- Oversees project quality through reviews and regular check-ins; may provide final reviews for projects under purview.
- Develops and maintains relationships with strategic partners and customers to expand opportunities.
- Participates in client, company and industry events to build professional relationships.
- Fosters a client-centric mindset within the team.
- Maintains proactive communication with clients throughout the project cycle.
- Anticipates and answers questions from clients and architects; directs fact-finding and assists with answers as needed.
- Visits job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
- Resolves conflicts among owners, architects and contractors as needed.
- Performs project management responsibilities in collaboration with experienced project managers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field preferred (mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) with 11 years of relevant experience, or 13 years without degree.Advanced knowledge of engineering design, A&E industry codes, design guides and standards.Knowledge of earned value, contracts and construction processes and methods.Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu.CFD experience is a plus.Professional Engineering (PE) license highly preferred.FE exam completion and LEED / WELL accreditation highly preferred.High technical aptitude and the ability to learn and apply various systems and processes.Ability to train others on systems and processes.Effective verbal and written communication; ability to communicate clearly with designers at all levels.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate in a highly collaborative environment and lead less experienced designers.Adaptability to changing work environments and priorities.Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and accept coaching.Perks & Benefits
