Job Description
PCG is seeking an experienced Salary Payroll Specialist for its Compensation and benefits department based in Lenexa, KS.
The Salary Payroll Specialist position is responsible for maintaining payroll data in the HRIS system, implementing process improvements, ensuring data quality, and analyzing and reporting on HRIS data.
The role processes and manages the company’s semi-monthly salary payroll, including reviewing payroll data for accuracy and ensuring payments are made on time.
The role also maintains an efficient payroll process that complies with all federal and state regulations, and the specialist will design, document, and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes.
Excellent analytical skills are required in this role, along with the ability to work with highly confidential information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Serve as subject matter expert for payroll areas of the Dayforce HRIS system.
- Act as key point of contact for salaried employees and be the go-to person for employee questions, providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll tax laws.
- Complete payroll onboarding process for all salaried new hires and hourly transfers to salary, including communication with new employees.
- Work closely with management to ensure final pay, PTO payouts, and severance is accurate and compliant for separating employees.
- Calculate, document, and pay project based exempt salaried overtime. Provide reporting to controllers upon request.
- Apply discretion and sound judgment in managing processes, making decisions, and handling sensitive information.
- Communicate and process garnishments and wage attachments for salaried employees.
- Process Semi-Monthly salary payroll for approximately 1,400 salaried employees nationwide.
- Partner with accounting department to research bank reconciliation issues and provide appropriate reporting to the accounting department.
- Collaborate with benefits to adjust pay and benefit deductions for Leave of Absences.
- Open and manage any necessary Dayforce payroll support tickets.
- Review Wage and Tax reports for quarter and annual close to ensure accuracy for tax reporting.
Requirements
Basic Requirements :
- 2 - 4+ years of direct experience in computing and processing payroll for a medium to large company
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Professional discretion and demonstrates experience handling confidential information and sensitive data
Minimum Requirements :
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite- intermediate to advanced Excel competency
- Business Acumen, including writen and oral communication skills
- Excellent organization, follow-through and customer service skills required
- Multi-State Payroll experience
- Compliance Awareness
Preferred Requirements :
- Local to the Kansas City Metro area
- CPP or FPC preferred
