The Branch Manager for the Providence, Rhode Island office is responsible for leading a team of approximately 75 employees to achieve revenue growth, maintain strong client retention, adhere to quality management metrics, and operate with financial efficiency. This role reports to Regional President and blends business development, community engagement, operational oversight, and strategic leadership to deliver measurable results while fostering the culture and values of our parent agency.
Duties of a Branch Manager include, but are not limited to :
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand commercial and personal insurance business in the Providence market.
- Leverage comprehensive mid-market commercial insurance expertise to collaborate with Producers and Account Executives in establishing and achieving sales goals for both new and renewal business.
- Engage in networking and relationship-building within the local community to generate business opportunities and strengthen the agency's market presence.
- Identify and close high-value prospects and competitive opportunities for targeted growth. Strategically use the risk management team to maximize close ratio.
- Meets and exceeds branch financial goals, including revenue growth, profitability, expense management, and operational efficiency.
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage the branch budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop forecasts and adjust strategies to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Achieve internal Quality Management audit score of 90 or higher.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring processes are efficient, client-focused, and compliant with company policies and industry regulations.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Management procedures, including audit standards, documentation accuracy, and service quality expectations.
- Monitor workflow to maintain consistency with the agency's Workflow Manuals and corporate Basic Procedure Manual.
- Ensure service standards are met or exceeded for client retention and satisfaction.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers to support placement, pricing, and service quality.
- Provide direct leadership, supervision, and performance management for all branch employees across departments.
- Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular one-on-one meetings, and deliver formal performance evaluations in alignment with company standards.
- Partner with Human Resources and Regional Operations to address employee relations matters, staffing needs, and succession planning.
- Promote accountability and high-quality work output through coaching, mentorship, and consistent feedback.
- Identify and develop emerging leaders, ensuring the branch maintains a strong internal talent pipeline.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new employees to ensure seamless integration into the branch culture and operational standards.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team that is aligned with company values and focused on achieving business goals.
- Build and maintain a workplace culture centered on accountability, where employees are empowered to take initiative and are held responsible for their work.
- Promote transparency, ownership, and results-driven behaviors at all levels of the branch.
- Create an inclusive, respectful environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Coordinate professional development initiatives and training programs for branch staff.
- Partner with carriers and internal experts to provide learning opportunities that support technical expertise, sales performance, and client service skills.
- Support corporate strategic initiatives and operational improvement projects.
- Represent the agency in community, industry, and networking events as a brand ambassador.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by senior leadership.

Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.7+ years of leadership experience in the commercial lines mid-market insurance industry, with proven results in sales growth and operational management.Strong understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.Active Property & Casualty license (or ability to obtain).
