Shive-Hattery is seeking a highly motivated architect experienced in private sector architectural design while having a firm understanding and comprehension of market trends. This talented, detail-oriented individual will demonstrate the leadership skills necessary to strengthen and support the performance and culture of the office by engaging in a work environment where staff are engaged and can excel in their abilities.

Candidates should demonstrate experience in all aspects of the design process including Programming, Master Planning, Conceptual, Schematic and Design Development presentations, 3D modeling, and the technical proficiency to successfully implement designs through the CD / CA phases.

Responsibilities would include participation in design and construction phase activities and coordinating with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the project. This candidate will also ensure clients receive superior service while supporting business development efforts and overall growth.

Requirements :

• Mid-level position and applies to individuals with at least to 3-6 years' experience in the practice of architecture, although candidates with a minimum of 5 years and more than 12 will be considered.
• Completion of accredited professional degree program with a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in architecture, or equivalent in appropriate education and experience. Registered architect is a requirement
• Capable of managing and or supervising project teams of architects, engineers, and designers of medium and large projects across multiple offices.
• Demonstrate a high degree of aptitude in critical, creative thinking associated with design and the design process
• Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code and current ADA requirements
• Knowledge of programming, planning, and building performance is beneficial
• Qualifications / Proficiencies consistent with mid-level experience for a motivated and creative professional; able to design with inherent understanding of building systems; capable of designing projects for high quality corporate and commercial clients
• Self-motivated and able to problem-solve independently. Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Google SketchUp. Working knowledge of AutoCAD is beneficial
• Must have a strong can-do attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be collaborative and have positive / effective team building skills
