Claims Attorney

Reports to : Claims Director

The Claims Attorney is responsible for supporting EIM's claims operations and in the administration of claim notices, establishment and management of claim reserves, investigation, administration and resolution of complex excess claims, and reporting of claims to EIM reinsurers. The lines of business are primarily Excess Casualty but can include a subset of D&O, Fidelity and Cyber.

General Duties and Responsibilities :

• Direct management of complex excess claims.
• Establish expense and / or indemnity payments when appropriate.
• Work to resolve and close all claim files.
• Coordinate with Finance to ensure efficient management of cash flow needs for claim payments.
• Regularly report to and update reinsurers on claim developments.
• Participate in refinement of claims operations, including development of methods that will assist in analytics.
• As needed, oversee the receipt and acknowledgment of notice of claims, in conjunction with the Claims Director, Claims Operations Supervisor and Claims Processors.
