Job Description

About the Role

As an Area Controller , your main focus will be on selling and profit in your Area through partnership and development of our store teams.

This hybrid / field role reports into the Area Manager and is based out of Des Peres, MO.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

  • Take main responsibility for maximizing Selling & Profit in the Area through performance of the physical stores
  • Execute the Commercial Plan for the Area based on the Regional plan
  • Secure Omni Customer Experience through qualitative & efficient Work Force Planning and operations
  • Partner with the Sales market team to set annual budget & forecast process for Sales, Efficiency & Costs
  • Guide the Area to reach top & bottom-line goals
  • Set hourly function plan with Store management to enable strong store operations, efficiency, and a great colleague and customer experience
  • Secure strong execution by aligning function plan and schedules.
  • Partner with the rest of the Area team to set the desired staff levels for all stores in your Area, in line with Sales market goals
  • Identify, develop and coach talents & foster multi-function collaboration

Required domestic and international travel up to 60% of the time

Qualifications

Who You Are :

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Business or Economics or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of retail leadership or people management, preferably in retail management
  • 1 - 3 years in a business analyst or finance role for a retail company preferred
  • Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service
  • Ability to coach and counsel staff and performance management and progressive discipline techniques
  • Inclusive, positive, open to feedback, willing to multitask and learn on the job
  • Strong commitment and experience with providing a high level of customer service

  • Store orientation and commitment to store management development
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to company specific systems
  • Platform training skills and ability to communicate complex technical information in a simple and easy way

Additional Information

Compensation : salary range is $85,164 - $95,810 annually
