Job Summary :
As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in healthcare by collecting, processing, and handling specimens with care and precision. You will be responsible for ensuring that all specimens are collected accurately and that compliance with all regulatory standards is maintained.

- Keep your working area and collection equipment organized, sanitized, and adequately stocked.
- Assist in procuring departmental supplies collaboratively with the team lead.
- Perform various specimen collection duties, including venipuncture, capillary collection, drug screening, skin tests, and cultures.
- Ensure that all specimen collection protocols are followed to maintain specimen integrity.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals to provide excellent service.
- Utilize the laboratory computer system for documentation, registration, and order entry.
- Complete additional assignments as needed, including on-call duties, special projects, and cross-training.
- Conduct timely performance evaluations and annual competency assessments for associates.
Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Skills : Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Completion of a phlebotomy, medical laboratory, or medical assistant program is advantageous.Experience : At least one year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.Certifications :
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or state licensure required if working in Louisiana.All associates must obtain necessary certifications within the designated timeframe as per CHRISTUS Health policy.
