Description :
The department consists of 7 treatment areas.
In addition to routine imaging, the team will cover inpatient, outpatient, operating room, and emergency room.
The work involves a variety of cases including pediatrics to geriatrics.
The department experiences high volume in the operating room and emergency room.
The average number of scans or studies performed is 70-80 per day, plus 5-15 cases in the operating room.
The electronic medical record and PACS system used is EPIC "Citrix".
Department specific equipment includes OEC C-arms, Medtronic O-arm, Fuji general, portable Fuji, and Siemens fluoroscopy.
There are supervisors and coordinators available on the day shift.
Radiology assistants are not utilized.
A radiologist is in-house Monday through Friday during standard business hours.
Images after hours are managed through teleradiology.
Starting IVs is not required in this role.
The shift schedule includes both 8 and 12-hour shifts, Monday through Sunday with variable start times.
Day shifts typically start at 0600, 0700, or 0730.
Night shifts begin at 1900 and largely occur over the weekend.
The manager will create the schedule.
Call is required on weekdays, from approximately 1530 / 1600 to 0700.
Weekend call is scheduled every third weekend, with a start time of 0700 for 12-hour shifts.
On scheduled weekends off, the expectation is to be on call, averaging 8.5-15.5 hours of call time.
A response time of 20-30 minutes for call is expected.
Holidays may require coverage if necessary.
Scrubs are provided for employees.
Unit-specific orientation consists of 1.5-2 weeks, including clinical skills and EPIC training.
The workplace environment is described as a family-like atmosphere with a strong team dynamic.
There is a radius rule of 50 miles for candidates.
Initial requests for time off (RTO) should not exceed 7 days for the 13-week contract.
Additional time off requests will not be approved after submission.
Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts for contracts of 13 weeks or longer, and 3 shifts for contracts under 13 weeks.
A BSN is not required for this position.
This is a trauma level 2 care setting within the allied health division.
