- Job Summary :
The Manufacturing Engineer works under the direction of Engineering to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and safety.
- Perform time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing to drive Lean, JIT, and continuous-flow improvements.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment using CAD (SOLIDWORKS) to support safe, repeatable, and cost-effective production operations and growth.
- Evaluate and improve machinery layouts and manufacturing cells to optimize product flow and ergonomics.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions (5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, DMAIC) to resolve production issues and reduce defects.
- Ensure process capability and statistical control through SPC, DOE, and data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs (scrap, cycle time, OEE, labor efficiency) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support new product introductions by defining process requirements, developing documentation, designing tooling, and validating new processes.
- Manage capital projects involving new machinery, automation, and facility upgrades, working directly with vendors and contractors.
- Create, maintain, and modify PLC and MMI programs.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce labor, improve ergonomics, and enhance process consistency.
- Redesign and re-engineer machine components to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.

- Minimal – Potential when supporting alternate production locations and equipment runoff exercises.
- Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or Technology related field; or at least 5 years’ experience and / or training in related field.
- Ability to manage information in CMMS system, MS Office products, CAD Software, and various PLC & Operator Interface Software.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Motivated and able to work independently while using good judgement and a willingness to make decisions.
- Physical Requirements
- Required to stand, walk, bend and reach.
- Occasionally required to kneel, crouch, or crawl in certain areas
- Regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with team lift
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
- Will be required to work in non-temperature-controlled facility
