The Peds Psych Intake Coordinator Lead is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the patient intake process by overseeing insurance verification, pre- certifications, authorizations, referrals, intake screenings and patient scheduling. Gathers appropriate and correct patient demographics, financial information, and health coverage information. Identifies and problem solves complex coverage issues and coordinates activities with the Clinic Staff. Responsible for all new patient triage for Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic, EDC Admission and Consultation Services. Acts as the main liaison between the hospital and clinic and the referring physician and patient. Assists with orientation and training of new employees. Responsible for developing, providing, maintaining, monitoring, documenting, and tracking all Child Psychiatry supportive services including Intake, Authorization and Scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

  • Delegates responsibility to others, activities according to ability, level of preparation, the standards of practice and regulatory guidelines.
  • Attends and provides staff support to meetings.
  • Prepares and edits internal and external organizational communications, correspondence, presentations and other documents.
  • Designs and maintains databases, conducts research, collects and analyzes data to prepare reports and documents
  • Keeps abreast of developments in technology to communicate, manage workflow, mitigate error, and support decision-making in patient intake process.
  • Develops programs and leads process improvement projects throughout the department
  • Triages incoming referrals and calls to assess for safety and suicidality.
  • Organizes files and employ tracking systems for easy access to information.
  • Conducts phone interviews with patients and families to obtain medical and psychiatric information.
  • Assists patients and families in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assists with emergency and crisis situations in the clinic and over the phone.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education : Bachelor's degree in a work-related field / discipline from an accredited college or university

Experience : Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

License / Certification : None required.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of government and commercial insurance authorization / certification.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

    Pay Range

    Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

    Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

    Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

    Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly) : $40.35 to $50.44
