Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty : Wound Care in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8-hour days, 6 : 30 AM - 3 : 00 PM, every other weekend required, first to float

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Current RN license required

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) required; wound certification is a plus

Must-Have : SNF wound care experience including wound vac application

Job Description :

• Provide specialized wound care in a skilled nursing facility setting.
• Treat various types of wounds, including pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and stasis ulcers.
• Work alongside other full-time wound nurses, maintaining a ratio of 3 wound nurses per day over 7 days a week.
• Cover both long-term care and short-term skilled units, with specific attention to short-term unit C and D.
• Participate in a unit-specific orientation for 5 days, focusing on wound care with an experienced wound care nurse.
• Manage a variable number of patients each day, with a total combined census of up to 75 patients.
• Work under the guidance of the nurse manager and cooperate with a team of nurses assigned to separate tasks.
• Follow the dress code with RNs wearing navy blue scrubs.
• Utilize the Cerner charting system for all documentation.
• Fulfill weekend and holiday requirements as specified.
• Capable of floating to other wound care units as needed.

This position does not require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and the orientation includes 12 hours. Applicants should ensure they meet all experience and certification requirements.
