Lactation Consultant- RN

Part time (40 hrs per biweekly pay period)

Flexible rotating night shift and occasional weekends OR weekends w / occasional night shifts.

Job Summary

Provides education, support and counseling of expectant and new parents on breastfeeding. Demonstrate an understanding of lactation and be able to offer phone consultations on breastfeeding concerns. Previous / current postpartum experience is required for this position.

Independently provides patient care using the nursing process and performs leadership and teaching duties necessary that supports effective patient care. Supports and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Functions within the limits of the State and Federal licensing, regulatory bodies and hospital policies.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required :

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of Maryland or compact state.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment
• Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Certified in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
• IBCLC certification required

Pay is based on experience, skills and education. If position is part-time, salary will be pro-rated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. Non-Exempt positions may have shift differential and / or Overtime paid, if applicable.

Pay range : $35.00 - $52.00
