Reporting directly to Director Engineering (Electrical) within the Engineering department, The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for LED driver and electronic components design and development, qualifying new power supplies and guiding suppliers through new product development.
Responsibilities :
- Selects, evaluates, and qualifies power supplies and control components for new products.
- Collaborates with suppliers on developing new power supplies.
- Leads design and evaluation of LED drivers, controls, and electrical projects (including IoT and connected lighting).
- Troubleshoots power supplies, analog, and digital circuits.
- Oversees Lab Technicians' electrical testing and provide technical guidance.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Works collaboratively to achieve company goals and resolve issues.
- Upholds Visual Comfort Company values and maintain reliability, punctuality, and effective workplace presence.
Requirements :
Bachelor's in electrical engineering required7 years designing phase-cut dimmable LED driversSkilled in Buck, Boost, Flyback, LLC topologiesExperienced in power supply qualification and reliability testingUnderstanding of US / EU market requirements and safety standardsProficient in EMI mitigation and lighting control protocols (0-10V, DALI, DMX)Uses oscilloscopes, power meters, electronic loadsFamiliar with PSpice, LTspice simulation toolsWorks independently; meets objectivesStrong organizational and time management abilitiesEffectively manages multiple priorities and adapts to changeCollaborates well in teams and communicates clearly via email, chat, phoneWe Provide :
