Plant Production Manager
The Plant Production Manager is responsible for providing overall leadership, direction, and performance management of the manufacturing facility. This role encompasses full accountability for production, scheduling, production control, and ensuring on-time delivery across all operating departments. The Plant Manager will focus on achieving key operational metrics related to on-time delivery, productivity, throughput, safety, and cost control while leading efforts for long-term improvements to enhance plant performance, capacity, and efficiency.
Responsibilities :
- Provide direct leadership to all production and production support departments, including Scheduling, Production Control, and Manufacturing Supervision.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term operational plans that align with company strategic objectives.
- Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing areas.
- Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to improve product flow, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
- Monitor and report on plant KPIs, including on-time delivery, throughput, safety, cost performance, and labor efficiency.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute long-term improvement plans, including process optimization and capacity planning.
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations to ensure achievement of production goals for output, efficiency, quality, and delivery.
- Manage labor and capacity planning to balance workload and resource utilization across departments.
- Ensure production schedules align with customer demand, material availability, and plant capacity.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and processes to enhance productivity and quality.
- Drive proactive problem-solving and cross-department coordination to remove production bottlenecks and reduce downtime.
- Lead the Scheduling and Production Control teams to ensure effective coordination between order demand, inventory, and manufacturing output.
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture through proactive training and communication.
- Lead Lean / 5S initiatives and structured problem-solving efforts to reduce waste and improve flow.
- Manage plant budgets, track operational costs, and identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce overhead.
Essential Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.Proven experience managing production control, scheduling, and cross-functional manufacturing teams.Experience in custom or mixed-mode manufacturing environments (project-based and standard product lines).Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.Deep understanding of manufacturing systems, including ERP / MRP.Analytical mindset with ability to use data for decision-making and performance management.Demonstrated success in Lean manufacturing, process optimization, and change management.Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications :
Proficient in MS Excel, including creating data spreadsheets with graphs, charts, and formulas.Experience in metal fabrication and assembly production.Experience in manufacturing of pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and / or control panels is a plus.Master's degree preferred.Work Environment :
This is an onsite position in an office environment, with frequent visits to the manufacturing floor for collaboration and troubleshooting purposes. The standard hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 4 pm, with some flexibility available.

Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $140,000.00 - $225,000.00 / yr.
