Are you a seasoned tax professional with a knack for strategic planning and a passion for financial growth? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tax Director to join our Accounting and Finance team. This role will offer you the chance to showcase your expertise in tax planning, compliance, and audit while working with a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals and partnerships. You will also have the opportunity to work with ASC 740, 1065, and state tax matters. This position calls for a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities :
As the Permanent Tax Director, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to :
1. Overseeing the tax planning, compliance, and audit functions of the organization.
2. Managing the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
3. Providing strategic tax advice and planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
4. Managing ASC 740 processes and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
5. Reviewing and managing the preparation of partnership tax returns (1065).
6. Developing and implementing effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws.
7. Collaborating with other department heads to align internal strategies.
Qualifications :
To be considered for the Permanent Tax Director role, candidates should possess the following qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA, MST, or JD / LLM is highly preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting.
3. Strong knowledge of ASC 740, partnership tax returns (1065), and state tax matters.
4. Proven experience with tax planning, compliance, and audit for high-net-worth individuals and partnerships.
5. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
8. Ability to stay current with the latest industry trends and tax law changes.
