Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist

Overview

The Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and concise documentation to improve and ensure the integrity of the healthcare system. This role serves as a resource for physicians and other healthcare team members regarding DRGs, SOI / ROM, ICD-10 CM / PCS, HCCs, APCs, and CPT information. The specialist maintains knowledge of AHIMA guidelines and compliance standards related to queries and communicates effectively with the coding team and other departments for documentation clarification and accurate coding.

Licensure

Preferred : Licensed Physician Assistant, Registered Health Information Administrator, Registered Health Information Technician, Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner, Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist, Registered Nurse

Education

Required : Associate's Degree

Preferred : Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, Physician Assistant

Experience

• 1 Year Clinical - Acute Care (Required)
• 1 Year Coding (Preferred)
• 1 Year Diagnosis-Related Group Analysis (Preferred)
• 1 Year Clinical - Cardiology (Preferred)
• 1 Year Clinical - Critical Care (ICU / CCU) (Preferred)
