Service Technician (Indianapolis)

Overview

We are seeking a mechanically inclined, eager-to-learn Entry-Level Service Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading HVAC manufacturers representative. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new technical skills. No prior HVAC service experience is requiredfull training will be provided.

You will assist in the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment used in schools, hospitals, office buildings, industrial facilities, and more. This position offers hands-on field experience, long-term growth potential, and the chance to build a career in a high-demand technical field.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior technicians with equipment start-ups, commissioning, and basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and performance checks on commercial HVAC equipment, including air handling units, pumps, chillers, boilers, controls, etc.
• Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Follow manufacturer instructions, safety procedures, and jobsite protocols.
• Document service activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Provide courteous and professional communication when interacting with contractors, engineers, and end users.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in proper working order.
• Participate in ongoing training to learn HVAC fundamentals, equipment operations, and troubleshooting techniques.
