What the job does
- Information Technology Services (ITS) at MCCCD seeks a seasoned and strategic IT Operations Manager to oversee and enhance enterprise technology operations. Reporting to the Director of IT Operations, this leadership role oversees teams across systems, applications, infrastructure, and service desk functions. The IT Operations Manager leads operational efficiency and automation efforts while ensuring reliability, leveraging ITIL guiding principles, and ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, and efficient IT services across the organization.
- You will be building and launching ITS's brand-new Operations Center, a central hub for network, application, and cybersecurity monitoring, incident response, and operational excellence. You will manage complex IT ecosystems, including hybrid and cloud environments, while fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Optimization (20%) – Use ITSM tools and monitoring platforms to track uptime and incident trends; create and distribute KPI and capacity reports; identify trends to improve processes and performanceChange, Incident, and Problem Management (20%) – Lead Change Advisory Board, define and enforce SLAs, oversee incident response, drive root cause analysis, and apply ITIL practices for major incidentsSystems, Applications, and Infrastructure Operations (20%) – Monitor health and performance of enterprise systems, lead patching and maintenance, respond to incidents to minimize downtimeSystem and Infrastructure Management (10%) – Maintain servers, networks, storage, endpoints, data centers; ensure security and capacity planning; manage cloud / hybrid environmentsNetwork and Connectivity Support (5%) – Monitor networks, troubleshoot LAN / WAN / Wi-Fi, support remote / onsite connectivity, maintain networking inventory (CMDB)Administrative (5%) – Participate on districtwide teams as needed; perform related dutiesQualifications
Required – Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field and five (5) years of professional experience in a related area, including two (2) years of supervisory experience. OR an equivalent combination of degree, education, certification, and related full-time experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.
You'd like to have – Experience managing enterprise IT operations in a multi-site environment; ITIL or similar service management framework; experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, VMware, and monitoring tools; experience leading major incident response with effective stakeholder communication; related certifications (ITIL Foundation or higher, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, etc.).
