Our client is currently seeking a qualified Deskside Technician to join their team onsite in Camden, NJ and provide end-user support. This tech will provide technical support, maintain and repair computer systems, and ensure smooth operations of end-user workstations. This role requires expertise in hardware and software troubleshooting, system setup, and user support to optimize business productivity and resolve technical issues.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide day-to-day support for end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
Install, configure, and maintain laptop and desktop computers, operating systems, and software applications
Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, and related systems to ensure optimal functionality
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems
Replace or set up repair of defective parts as necessary
Respond to support requests via phone, Teams, email, or in-person and assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Maintain accurate records of support requests, technical issues, and resolutions in the help desk ticketing system
Ensure systems are secure, up to date with patches, and meet company security standards
Assist in managing network-related issues, including connectivity problems, setting up user access, and ensuring network stability
Work with other IT staff and departments to improve technology infrastructure and streamline troubleshooting procedures
Track and manage IT equipment and spare parts inventory
Skills and Qualifications :
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or other industry-recognized credentials are a plus
Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician, IT Technician, or similar role
Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and office software
Experience with computer hardware, including troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading
Familiarity with network configurations, Wi-Fi setup, and troubleshooting
Must be able to climb stairs and walk short / long distances to assist users
Must be squat down under equipment for installations
Must be able to carry at time 50lbs of equipment for installation updates
Familiarity with Active Directory, SCCM and Intune for managing computers and user profiles
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
Knowledge of antivirus software, backup systems, and security best practices
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Wage Range :
The rate for this position is between $23.00 - $33.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography / market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
