Licensed Optician (Independent Contractor - Mobile Vision Clinic)

Location : Las Vegas & Clark County, NV

Healthy Together is a rewarding mission that brings healthcare to underserved populations in Clark County through our mobile clinics. We are expanding our mobile vision program and looking for a Licensed Optician to join our outreach team as an independent contractor . This role is ideal for someone experienced, dependable, and passionate about improving access to vision care across Clark County.

About the Role

You'll work 1-2 days per month (to start) alongside our optometrist and mobile clinic team at community sites-schools, shelters, and public events-helping patients receive full eye exams and glasses at no cost. We expect to increase frequency as our program grows early next year.

Responsibilities

Fit and dispense eyewear from prescriptions issued by our mobile optometrist

Perform frame adjustments and repairs on-site

Assist with patient education, eyewear selection, and lens options

Maintain and verify accuracy of optical orders and documentation

Support event setup, patient flow, and mobile clinic operations

Requirements

Current Nevada Dispensing Optician License (active and in good standing)

Minimum 5 years of experience in optical dispensing

Fluent in both English and Spanish (required)

Strong communication skills and ability to work in community or outreach settings

Reliable transportation and flexibility for event-based scheduling (mostly Fridays or Saturdays)

Compensation

Competitive per diem rate, based on experience and event duration

Independent contractor position (1099)
