AP Specialist

About the Organization : Our client is a well-established non-profit with strong ties to the local community. They're seeking a detail-oriented AP Specialist who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Location : Danbury, CT

Key Responsibilities :

• Establish and maintain positive vendor relationships
• Negotiate payment schedules and communicate with vendors via phone and email regarding account status in Great Plains A / P system
• Ensure current W-9 forms are on file for all active vendors; prepare annual 1099 forms and W3 transmittals for IRS submission
• Review and verify the accuracy of all computer-generated reports, including checks, distribution reports, and General Ledger reconciliations
• Oversee petty cash administration
• Maintain strict confidentiality of accounts payable records, limiting access to authorized personnel only
• Support external auditors with reporting and inquiries related to accounts payable
• Perform additional duties as assigned
