As a Sterile Processing Supervisor, you work behind-the-scenes, but you are a crucial part of healthcare outcomes and quality overseeing the sterilization of medical equipment, ensuring that sterilization procedures are performed correctly and in accordance with industry standards, and evaluating workflow and staffing.
You’re a multi-tasker with expertise in the assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration, and troubleshooting of surgical instrumentation and equipment.

Your Everyday
- Maintain and assemble various types of surgical instrumentation in order to provide safe patient care.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of various types of surgical equipment.
- Disinfect equipment prior to operating room setup and prepare the operating room environment for next cases under direct supervision.
- Transport equipment between operating room suites and dirty instrument carts to sterile processing using appropriate infection control techniques.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the operating room charge nurse and / or manager.
- Maintain appropriate levels of equipment / supplies in the various surgical areas (including sterile cores and sterile processing department) and assist with returning overstock supplies and checking sterile supplies for out of dates products.
- Assist with pulling supplies and instrumentation for surgical cases.
- Assist with completing survey readiness checklists on a weekly basis and compiling performance improvement / quality control data as directed.
- Assist the surgical technicians with patient care without directly performing surgical technician duties (scrubbing).
- Follow all standards and guidelines outlined by LCMC and departmental policies.
- Assist with training and orientation of staff / students.
The Must-Haves
Minimum :
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent
- 2 years Sterile Processing OR Scrub Tech
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HPSA) OR Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
Preferred :
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
WORK SHIFT :
Weekends (United States of America)
