The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) seeks a qualified individual for the Purchasing Specialist (Fiscal Analyst 1) position. This role is within the Operations Division and is based out of our Tumwater Office.

About the Position
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about making a meaningful impact? This vital role supports our agency's mission by managing essential purchasing processes and employee training requests. You'll play a key part in ensuring smooth, compliant procurementfrom reviewing and preparing purchasing documents to executing transactions and tracking approvals.
In this position, you'll :

This is a Washington General Service position. The monthly salary range for this position is $4,027 - $5,398.

18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing, or budgetingOne year of full-time (40 hours per week or equivalent) fiscal-related experience within a finance, accounting or payroll officeBasic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skillsA degree in accounting, auditing or budgeting or related field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation, or a foreign equivalent may be substituted for relevant experience. Proof of degree may be required prior to employment. If a degree was awarded outside of the United States, candidates must provide a credential evaluation report.Academic Degree Equivalency Chart :
Associate's Degree : 2 years of experienceBachelor's Degree : 4 years of experienceMaster's Degree : 5 years of experiencePreferred / Desired Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in a financial-related field.Six months experience researching and applying regulations, rules, procedures and / or policies pertaining to job functions, including demonstrated ability to identify errors or discrepancies.Knowledge of and experience in the development of purchasing, procurements and / or contract documents.Basic Adobe Acrobat skills; able to merge documents, edit and redact existing documents.Ready to join us?
