Responsibilities: Provides clerical, receptionist and customer service on patient care units while maintaining confidentiality.
Supervision and Direction Exercised: None. May orient new Patient Unit Secretaries.
Machines and Equipment Used: Telephone, intercom, pneumatic tube system, copier, addressograph machine, computer terminal, shredder and fax machine.
Typical Duties:
Qualifications: High school education and 1 year of clerical experience, with demonstrated legible writing and verbal communication skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills preferred.
