Summary

NFL Media seeks a Seasonal Producer to oversee live & taped segments for NFL Network’s Good Morning Football (GMFB) and an additional 2-hour syndicated / streaming version of the show.

The ideal candidate will have experience establishing a very creative, professional environment within a dynamic, live-show setting.

This person will need to have extensive knowledge of the NFL, as well as familiarity with GMFB and its cast. Reporting to the Showrunner, the Seasonal Producer must help lead the charge to find new ways to keep the show fresh and establish a team that encourages creativity and new ideas from all members, with an emphasis on engaging talent in the creative / editorial execution of segments.

The ideal candidate is expected to uphold the strongest journalistic and professional standards at all times, but also must be willing to take risks in a smart, creative way.

Responsibilities

  • Line Produce Good Morning Football and the syndicated / streaming version of the show
  • Produce shows that are informative and entertaining, while also covering the news of the day
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with talent and recurring guests / reporters
  • Lead a team of Segment Producers, PAs and other show personnel in the office and control rooms during the daily planning and execution of the show
  • Use a high level of NFL knowledge and news judgment to determine concepts and content of show
  • Work collaboratively on show content with other NFLM departments, including the News Desk, Original Content & Entertainment, and Booking
  • Ensure full compliance with the approved policies and operating procedures for NFL Media

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years working in live sports / news television required
  • Experience line producing live shows required
  • Relevant experience creating and producing compelling shows / content
  • Significant experience in sports production and the ability to produce at a high level
  • Must have operational expertise in a production environment
  • Must have a high-level knowledge of football and football history
  • Previous supervisory and leadership skills are required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed; strong writing and copy-editing skills
  • Must possess strong command skills and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Broadcasting, Radio / TV / Film, or equivalent work preferred

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Seasonal ability to work 40+ hours per week for 7 months
  • Early morning call-time on show days; dayside & nightside shifts possible Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday; additional weekend & holidays as needed
