Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric RN for a night shift hospital position in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license, BLS, and PALS certification.
Responsibilities
Work in an 11 room, 16 bed Pediatric unit within an acute care hospitalLevel II Trauma Center settingNight shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18 : 00 to 6 : 30Required to work every other weekendNo on-call responsibilitiesFloating required within hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as neededPatient population includes pediatric MedSurg and stepdown / telemetry casesUses Cerner EMR and experience is requiredProvide direct patient care to pediatric patients across a range of medical and stepdown / telemetry needsSupport includes breastfeeding, IV therapy, respiratory interventions, and wound careMust work two out of three major holidays during the assignmentScrub color is any solid colorNo restrictions on local candidatesFirst-time travelers are acceptedMust not have worked as a perm or PRN employee of the health system within the past 12 monthsNo parking cost; parking permit required and arranged during orientationUp to 5 days of requested time off can be auto-approved; more than 5 days may require facility approvalModules to be completed virtually on the first dayRequirements
Active IL RN license in hand at time of application or active application with ETAMinimum 2 years of pediatric RN experienceCurrent BLS and PALS certification from AHA or Red Cross (RQI not accepted)Experience with pediatric MedSurg, stepdown, and telemetry requiredSkills required include hyperbilirubinemia and insulin administration, breastfeeding support and handling, gavage feedings, oral / nasogastric tube placement, peripheral IV line care and phlebotomy, pediatric dosage calculations, oral / nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound assessment / careExperience with Cerner charting system requiredBenefits
