Toyoda Gosei is looking for a talented and motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our fantastic team in San Antonio, Texas!
The Human Resources Specialist supports and enhances the organization’s human resources function with a primary focus on employee relations and acting as a back-up payroll processor. This role partners with management and team members to address workplace concerns, ensures compliance with company policies and federal / state employment regulations, and provides HR support in staffing, benefits, compliance, and payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and advising managers on corrective actions in alignment with Toyoda Gosei policies and applicable laws.
- Support the payroll function by serving as the back-up payroll processor, ensuring accurate and timely payroll in the absence of the primary processor and during busy weeks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including attendance tracking and absence reporting by department.
- Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Support staffing efforts for hourly and salaried positions, including screening, interviewing, and coordinating onboarding activities.
- Oversee new hire orientation and conduct HR-related training sessions as needed.
- Manage employee badge access and coordinate uniform orders.
- Assist in the preparation and and distribution of accurate headcount and absenteeism reports for management review.
- Maintain positive communication and collaboration with managers and team members across all departments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or verifiable equivalent work experience.3- 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong acumen in employee relations.Experience with payroll processing preferred; UKG Pro or ADP experience a plus (we currently use UKG Pro).Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.).Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; Spanish proficiency is a plus .Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.Working Conditions
Manufacturing plant environment, the HR offices are close to the production floor and HR maintains a presence on the shop floor to support.The role is primarily Monday through Friday, HR supports both shifts with occasional Saturday work (3 to 4 times per year as needed.)Physical Demands
Occasional lifting of printer paper boxes and light office equipment.
