Overview
The Chief Operating Officer is accountable for the effective operation, administration
and evaluation of all hospital services, operations and facilities management, new systems and programs
which ensure the highest level of quality service is provided to patients and employees.
Responsibilities
Act as a leader of the System in the absence of the CEO, within predetermined parameters.
Provides oversight and coordination of the human resources and information systems departments in
collaboration with the Vice President of Human Resources and the Chief of Information Systems Officer.
Support and provide the leadership for the ARH System Centers Administrators in order to achieve the
System’s philosophy, mission and strategy.
Represents the System in community events.
Assist the CEO with various projects.
Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Advanced degree in business administration or related field.
Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a senior level position in a health care facility.
POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must possess physical ability to endure prolonged sitting; moderate walking; lifting and carrying. May
require exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally; and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently; and / or
a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of
those for sedentary work.
S SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES :
Accountable for renovation and construction of real properties and assuring compliance with budget, policy,
and federal and state agency regulatory requirements.
Accountable for the overall hospital operations.
Accountable to assure the corporation remains focused on the mission of serving the communities
serviced by ARH.
