JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager at Capital Spring in Columbus, OH, the Shipper / Packer is responsible for the processing of all daily shipping activities, ensuring the on-time delivery (OTD) of all shipments, and helping to achieve monthly sales goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Verifies products prior to packaging and follows packaging instructions.
• Prepares items for shipment, including completing shipping notices, bills of lading, pack lists and any other required documents.
• Determines shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods to meet shipping schedules, utilizing knowledge of customer requirements, shipping procedures, shipping routes and rates.
• Follows work instructions to ensure the accuracy, completeness and condition of outgoing shipments.
• Effectively communicates with all internal departments, outside suppliers, and customers for delivering orders on time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma / GED.
• Experience with UPS and FedEx shipping software, manufacturing enterprise software (Visual, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent), and specific customer portals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Move / lift / carry up to 45 pounds with assistance from lifting equipment.
• Stand up to 6+ hours per day.
• Ability to stoop and bend.
