Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist - Early Intervention & Preschool Services | Rochester, NY

Join our dedicated team as a Speech Language Pathologist specializing in early intervention and preschool services for children ages birth through 5 years. This exceptional opportunity offers flexible scheduling, competitive compensation of $55-$65 per hour (fee for service), comprehensive benefits, and a supportive, collaborative work environment. We welcome both experienced SLPs and Clinical Fellows (CFY candidates) to apply for full-time or part-time positions serving the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide itinerant speech therapy services to infants, toddlers, and preschool children (birth to 5 years) with developmental and communication needs
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions in multiple settings including family homes, childcare centers, preschools, and clinic environments
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and assessments for early intervention populations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary team members
  • Collaborate with educators, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other specialists to support holistic child development
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for all therapy sessions
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities
  • Provide family education and training to support carryover of therapeutic strategies
  • Travel within assigned territory (limited to areas within one hour of Rochester)

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
  • Current New York State license in Speech-Language Pathology
  • NYS Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for itinerant service delivery
  • Passion for working with young children and their families in natural environments
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative team relationships
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Previous experience in early intervention or pediatric speech therapy
  • Knowledge of play-based therapy approaches and family-centered intervention strategies
