Assistant Attorney General - Public Protection and Fraud
The Public Protection & Fraud Division of the Utah Attorney General's Office has an opening for a full-time attorney in its Real Estate and Securities section, focused on the enforcement of laws related to real estate, mortgages, appraisals, securities, consumer protection, and professional licensing. The division represents the Department of Commerce in civil actions before state and federal courts as well as in administrative proceedings before boards, commissions, and administrative law judges.
Our team operates in the fast-paced, meaningful, and challenging world of affirmative enforcement, working with federal and state partners to accomplish results. Our work includes litigating to stop the opioid crisis; challenging unaffordable insulin prices; suing Ticketmaster over its sales practices; holding social media companies accountable for harms to kids; driving Pornhub to address non-consensual and child pornography; helping to discipline professionals who transgress licensing laws; combatting abuse against elders and other vulnerable populations; stopping false advertising; and halting Ponzi schemes.
