Job description

HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Amarillo, Texas.

Job Description & Requirements

Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum 1 year of recent Step Down / Intermediate Care experience
  • Previous Charge Experience : Preferred
  • Travel Experience : Required
  • Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Charting System : Epic

    • Key Skills

  • Telemetry / Step Down Care : Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias, participation in Rapid Response / Code teams
  • IV Therapy / Phlebotomy : Peripheral and central line care, blood product administration
  • Medications : Management of cardiac drips (no titration)
  • Respiratory Care : Oxygen administration, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management
  • Professional Practice : Isolation precautions, multidisciplinary collaboration

    • Unit & Staffing Details

  • Patient Ratios : 1 : 5 (Days, Nights, Weekends)
  • Float Requirement : Yes – to departments of equal or lesser acuity
  • Orientation Hours : 24
  • Weekend Coverage : Required (ratio 1 : 5)
  • Daily Census : 12–14 patients
  • Number of Beds : 24

    • Patient Population

  • Age Group : Adults
  • Unit Type : Combination of Medical / Surgical and Intermediate Care patients
  • Typical Ratios : 1 : 4–1 : 6 depending on acuity and assignment
