Plumbing Engineer (MEP) – New York City

Location : New York, NY

Job Type : Full-Time

Experience Level : Mid to Senior (3–8+ years preferred)

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Engineer to join our growing MEP design team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in plumbing system design, proficiency with Revit for modeling and documentation, and proven experience delivering projects across residential, commercial, and institutional sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, stormwater, medical gas, and fire protection piping.
Prepare detailed construction documents, specifications, and system layouts using Revit.
Coordinate with other MEP disciplines, architects, and structural engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, code compliance reviews, and hydraulic calculations.
Conduct site surveys, attend project meetings, and support construction administration activities.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related discipline.

3+ years of experience in plumbing system design for MEP consulting or engineering firms.

Proficiency in Revit (required); AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Knowledge of NYC Plumbing Code, Building Code, and Fire Code.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

EIT, PE, or CPD certification preferred (or on track to obtain).
