Emergency Department Technician
Emergency Department Technician Job Duties :
Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN), the Emergency Department Technician provides patient care for all patients throughout the lifespan.
- Performs technical skills under the supervision of the Emergency Department physicians and RNs for all patients throughout the lifespan.
- Assists medical and nursing staff with patient data collections, patient care, clerical duties and documents / communicates appropriately.
- Assists with facilitating interdepartmental and inter-hospital patient transfers as well as patient transfers between the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers and the Emergency Department.
Emergency Department Technician Minimum Requirements :
High School plus specialized training (6 mons-2 yrs)1 to 3 yearsKnowledge of medical terminology preferred.Current BLS and / or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire.Must be competent to obtain and process EKG’s per Cardiology protocols within 6 months of hire.Current State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) basic licensure, Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or Medical Assistant (MA).Salary Range : $18.00 to $27.50 / hr (based on experience)
