The Wearables Wireless Design Validation and Infra team is seeking an experienced Hardware Prototype Engineer to join the W-DIESL (Wearable Device Infra Engineering Services & Labs) team. This role is critical for enabling early product and system validation, delivering high-fidelity prototypes, and unblocking key design decisions for Meta's next-generation wearables.
Required Skills :
Hardware Prototype Engineer Responsibilities :
Support early validation of products, subsystems, and components through a broad range of prototyping capabilities
Enable product design teams to de-risk design decisions by facilitating validation builds and testing that cannot be supported by contract manufacturers or internal teams
Leverage multidisciplinary expertise to integrate complex subsystems, design fixtures, and enable rapid iteration
Deliver high-quality prototypes that support effective risk mitigation and critical design validation
Provide rapid, high-fidelity prototype validation and feedback to resolve key design challenges for wearables products
Accelerate decision-making, reduce development risks, and keep the product roadmap on track for milestones and successful launches
Maintain adaptability and responsiveness to evolving design requirements throughout the prototyping process
Enable continuous refinement, faster problem resolution, and accelerated product development timelines
Work closely with product design, subsystem owners (audio, wireless, display), and other cross-functional partners to deliver on prototyping needs
Manage intake and triage of support requests, assess feasibility, and coordinate with internal and external teams as needed
Lead part and material acquisition, space allocation, build planning, and execution for prototype and EQV builds
Coordinate with project DRIs to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
Develop and refine assembly processes, including manual and automated adhesive dispense, soldering, and integration of new components
Design and fabricate fixtures for assembly, testing, and validation
Support verification and validation testing post-build, including functional, mechanical, and environmental tests
Collect and analyze data to inform design and process improvements
