Job description

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Hand Therapy

Select Physical Therapy in Kissimmee is hiring a per diem COTA to support our outpatient hand therapy team. Work alongside an experienced OT / CHT treating upper extremity orthopedic conditions.

Requirements :

  • FL COTA license
  • 1+ year hand therapy experience preferred, or new grad with hand fieldwork

Responsibilities :

  • Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
  • Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
  • Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals.
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
  • Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies / procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies.

    • Qualifications :

  • Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program.
  • National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED.
  • Must have previous experience working with hand therapy patients.
  • 1+ year hand therapy experience preferred, or new grad with hand fieldwork.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Valid state driver's license.
