Executive & Personal Assistant
Location : Bethesda, MD / Washington, DC (Hybrid - mostly remote with occasional in-person)
Type : Part-time (20-30 hours / week) with flexible availability
Compensation : $40,000 - $65,000 annually
About the Role
We are seeking a patient, experienced, and highly reliable Executive & Personal Assistant to provide dedicated support to an accomplished professional and public figure based in the Washington, DC area. This is a meaningful, long-term role for someone who excels in providing thoughtful, proactive administrative support and who values flexibility and work-life balance.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional who thrives in a supportive role, brings sound judgment and discretion, and is comfortable being a trusted partner. This position requires someone who can be responsive and available when needed, particularly during travel or busy periods, while maintaining a sustainable part-time schedule.
Primary Responsibilities :
Schedule & Calendar Management
- Manage a complex but streamlined calendar of meetings, interviews, appointments, speaking engagements, and advisory commitments
- Coordinate travel arrangements (domestic and international)
- Proactively anticipate scheduling needs and conflicts
Correspondence & Communications
Handle incoming requests for meetings, speaking engagements, and interviewsDraft gracious, professional responses in both English and SpanishManage email inbox and prioritize communicationsScreen calls and messages as appropriateTechnology Support & Systems
Serve as a patient, reassuring tech support resourceCreate and maintain simple, user-friendly systems for document managementTroubleshoot everyday technology issues (computer, phone, software)Reduce technology-related stress through clear explanations and proactive solutionsAttentive Administrative Support
Provide responsive, attentive support that anticipates needsBe available as a reliable point of contact, especially during travel or eventsProblem-solve proactively to reduce stress and complexitySupport daily administrative tasks with patience and careOccasional In-Person Support
Travel to home office in Bethesda or DC office (Dupont Circle) approximately 1-4 times per month as neededProvide hands-on assistance with organization, technology, or event preparationRequired Qualifications
Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) - requiredMinimum 5+ years of relevant administrative or executive support experience.Ability to travel reliably to Bethesda, MD and Washington, DCExceptional judgment, discretion, and professionalismGenuine patience and a service-oriented mindsetStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsTech-savvy with ability to simplify technology for othersExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to work independently with minimal supervisionIdeal Candidate Profile

This role supports an established writer, speaker, and advisor who is focusing more on writing projects (columns and books) and select professional commitments. The pace is generally manageable with occasional busier periods around travel, speaking engagements, or deadlines. You will work independently most of the time while remaining accessible and responsive.
