Protouch Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients upon admission and monitor ongoing condition including vital signs, telemetry rhythms, lab results, and changes in status.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, and other treatments per physician orders.
  • Perform patient education about diagnosis, medications, discharge instructions, and self-care.
  • Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Identify deteriorations or emergent conditions and initiate appropriate interventions (escalate to rapid response or physician as needed).

    • Maintain safety, infection control, and patient comfort standards.

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois (or state of practice).
  • 1-2 years of experience providing bedside care in a Medical-Surgical / Telemetry unit.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Exposure to telemetry monitoring and ability to recognize cardiac rhythms / changes.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • Competency with electronic health records (EHR) and standard hospital procedures.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or ASN.
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred.

    • EPIC / Cerner\n\nGuaranteed hours : 36 or 48 acceptable(depend on needs)
