Unit secretaries are available on days and nights, with occasional tech support. The unit utilizes GE monitors, Alaris pumps, and Puritan Bennet ventilators. Documentation is completed using Meditech. There is a scheduled requirement of 36 hours per week, including 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period. Contract labor will float before core staff as needed. The unit performs bedside central line placement and follows a massive transfusion protocol. The unit emphasizes the use of technology to enhance patient care and efficiency. Upgraded GE monitors enhance the quality of care provided. The unit offers a flexible schedule and is recognized as the highest level of care in the area.
