Description :

General Information :

The facility has 12 medical surgical beds.

Minimal experience required is 1 year, which can include a mix of emergency department and medical surgical experience.

First-time travelers may be considered based on the interview and fit.

Travelers must reside more than 100 miles away from the facility.

Permanent staff must wait one full year to return as a traveler.

Patient types include medical surgical, intermediate level, and outpatient infusions.

Common diagnoses include stroke, myocardial infarction, and trauma.

Patient ratios for medical surgical are 1 : 4-6.

Support on the unit includes certified nursing assistants, with a patient to tech ratio of 6-12 for 1-2 techs.

A charge nurse is responsible for medical surgical, emergency department, and outpatient care, available 24 / 7.

Phlebotomy is supported by caregivers on campus during business hours, with on-call services afterward.

An IV / VAT Team is available with the charge nurse as the resource.

Respiratory therapy operates in-house from Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3 PM, with no call duty.

There are no hospitalists present.

The charting system used is Epic.

Floating is permitted within the scope of practice and below.

Weekend rotation requires the entire team to work rotating shifts, with no set weekends.

Self-scheduling is available.

Holiday assignments will be made as necessary.

Approval for time off must be completed prior to the start of the contract.

Condition snow policy states that caregivers will stay if called during shifts, and payment will be provided for all hours incurred during condition snow, even if sleeping.

In the case of impending condition snow, leadership will contact scheduled caregivers to arrive early for their shifts.

The required scrub color for registered nurses is navy blue, and for certified nursing assistants, it is light grey.
